Clinical Background
Dr. Mark Abramson attended the University of Maryland and was admitted on early acceptance to the University of Maryland School of Dentistry, where he graduated in 1975. After graduation, he came to California to complete a general practice residency at the Palo Alto Veterans Hospital.
Shortly after completing his residency training, Dr. Abramson limited his dental practice to treating the special needs of patients suffering with TMJ, headache, and facial pain.
TMJ, Pain, and Sleep Medicine
Dr. Abramson is a Diplomate of the American Academy of Orofacial Pain, a Diplomate of the Academy of Pain Management, a Diplomate of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, and a Fellow of the American Academy of Craniofacial Pain Management.
He is a member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, American Academy of Craniofacial Pain Management, and the Cranial Academy. His dental license has also been extended to include acupuncture treatment.
Airway Appliance Development
Dr. Abramson developed the O2 OASYS Oral/Nasal Airway System™. His prior published biography notes that the device received FDA approval in 2004 and was developed for the treatment of snoring and sleep apnea.
At Aloha Dental Group, Dr. Abramson serves in a clinical support role for cases involving TMJ, craniofacial pain, airway evaluation, and dental sleep medicine considerations.
